Between Dune Costiere Park and Torre Guaceto
Le Dune Village is located in a particularly interesting and protected area of Puglia.
The sea of Ostuni for several years has been awarded the prestigious BANDIERA BLU (BLUE FLAG).
The village is located within the "Dune costiere da Torre Canne a Torre S. Leonardo" REGIONAL NATURE PARK. This Park, with its numerous natural habitats, the extensive arable land, protagonists of projects aiming at protecting crops organically, the ancient olive groves; The via Traiana, archaeological and historical sites with cultural importance, the historic masseria farms and underground oil-mills, the Lame (small erosive furrows, typical of the Apulian countryside), rock dwellings, accommodation facilities and manufacturing companies with the Park Brand, the towns: a territory rich and complex to safeguard, and with values to promote; this is the area in which the Regional Natural Park Dune Costiere [costal dunes] develops, among the most interesting of South Italy, playing an important role in the environmental protection and relevant sustainable economic development.
The village also is very close to the Natural Marine reserve of the World Wide Fund for Nature of Torre Guaceto.
This stretch of coast, six kilometers long, includes a landscape of strong Mediterranean characters that from the sea slips over the dunes, through the Mediterranean scrub and swamps, up to a centuries-old olive grove. Every shape and color of the Park is desired and shaped by the sea.
